Paul has been involved with businesses in a variety of ways – sometimes as founder, other times as an early stage investor and also alongside a number of Private Equity funds.
Paul is currently an investor in and sits on the Boards as Chair/NED of a number of respected and rapidly growing businesses in the leisure and hospitality sectors.
These include Hawksmoor, The Alchemist, Blacklock and Yard Sale Pizza.
He was co-founder and Chair of Fairgame, sold in late 2025 to TenPin.
Paul is an Advisor to Only A Pavement Away, a charity acting as a conduit between employers in the hospitality industry and organisations supporting the homeless, ex-offenders and ex-service personnel.
He is also supports the food waste and inequality charity City Harvest as a member of its Food Council.
In hospitality Paul has been an investor in and on the Boards of PizzaExpress, Hickory’s, Tortilla, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, 200 Degrees Coffee and New World Trading Company.
In hotels Paul was on the Boards of Halcyon Hotels and Resorts and Palladian Hotels.
In gyms he was Chair of Gymbox and earlier in his career founded, led and successfully exited one of the UK's leading groups of health and fitness clubs.
Paul's experience with these businesses includes UK roll out, international expansion, corporate and financial strategy, governance, fundraising, public markets and exit strategy.
Paul is often invited to speak and publish articles about the leisure and hospitality industries and has presented at a number of national and international events.
He speaks passionately about these industries and also on a wide range of business matters.
